Fast Ferries

Displayed are just a cross section of the many boats Mark has been involved with since the early 80’s. Mark has conservatively sold over 150 vessels in that time ranging between 12m all the way through to 60m. Specific projects sold whilst either operating as a Director of Image Marine, or whilst operating as a Sales Manager at Austal Ships.

New World First Ferry Fleet:     Mark won this order against stiff opposition from the international ferry builders for Austal. The order ended up being for 7 x 47.5m 42 knot 430 pax ferries. These ferries are still operating very successfully on the Hong Kong Macau route.

OVDS Cat Ferries for Norway:     Mark managed to sell OVDS 2 of these 42m 34 knot passenger ferries and at the time they were the first HSC 2000 code vessels ever built for Norway and possibly 2 of the first vessels in the world to be built to that code. Austal did a very good job in delivering these vessels on time and to the very stringient requirements of the HSC code and the Norwegien Maritime rules. Mark stayed involved with the project along the way to ensure that things were kept on track.

Evercrest:     A 24m cat ferry sold to the Philippines. This was sold pre Austal days and Mark did the costing on the vessel, wrote the contract and specification, negotiated the contract and found the finance.
