Government of Trinidad & Tobago :     

North Star Cruise & Ferry Services have been selected to represent the National Infrastructure & Development Company during the construction of 4 x 41m passenger ferries scheduled to be delivered to Trinidad by the end of September 2010. The vessels will enter service in the Gulf of Paria between the cities of San Fernando and Port of Spain and will help alleviate traffic congestion on the roads.

North Star is excited to be part of this project and we are proud to have been selected ahead of our competitors after an exhaustive international tender process.

We will represent the owner on the ground throughout the construction, trials and delivery of these vessels and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

The vessels will carry 405 passengers each at speeds up to 37 knots in airconditioned comfort.

Venetian Macau Resorts:     

In order to facilitate suitable transport for their guests Venetian Macau Resorts ordered a total of 14 x 47.5m passenger catamarans to be built by Austal between 2006 and 2009.

North Star Cruise & Ferry Consulting Services were selected to provide services relating to the writing of tender documentation, assessing tender proposals together with Venetian's purchasing people and selecting suitable shipyards and negotiating the shipbuilding contract with the selected yard. Once the contract was signed we represented the owner on the ground at the shipyard during design,construction, testing, trials and delivery. Furthermore we assisted with setting up the organisation responsible for operating the fleet of vessels in Hong Kong and Macau.

This project was a huge undertaking by a company who had never before operated ferries and we are proud to say that we were deeply involved thoughout the project and that all the vessels are still operating successfully today.
